Condition

Please note that the work is stretched but unframed and the canvas is unlined. There are minor amounts of white residue visible within the lower left hand quadrant of the work , the largest area measuring approximately 1cm. wide, which appear to be contemporary with the creation of the work. There are small faint black smudges and marks throughout the work, all of which appear to be contemporary to the creation of the work and the artist's intent. There is a faint line of yellow paint, measuring approximately 1.5cm. long, to the base of the subject's hair which also appears to be contemporary with the creation of the work.There is minor cracking along all four framing edges as well as three minor areas of cracking to the top centre of the work, the largest area measuring 1cm. long. There appears to be minor paint loss to top right of the subject's body, measuring approximately 2cm. long. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals no signs of restoration or repair. Overall the work appears to be in very good condition. Please note that this work was professionally re stretched prior to sale.
