Description

  • The stand 42 cm long, 43 cm high, 7 850 g ; 16 1/2 in. tray, 17 in. high
resting on eight feet, the border applied with a scrolled frieze, each piece engraved with Count armorials, the finial shaped as a goat eating grapes

Condition

In overall very good condition. Fully marked under liner, inside cover, under the stand and under the foot. The liner also stamped with a mark L within a circle. Probably repolished. Very good weight, very nice finial (Bacchus allegory).

Catalogue Note

The arms are those of Andries Adolph Deutz van Assendelft (1764-1833), mayor of Amsterdam, named senator by King Wilhelm I in 1831. He married in 1785 Jacoba Margaretha Maria Boreel (1770-1816).
