The canvas is lined. A decorative image reads well underneath an old varnish, though it appears to be slightly pressed in some areas. The paint surface of the canvas has some minor lifting on its upper left and lower right corner. Thin lines at all four edges are barely visible, and possibly a result from old framing. What appears to be a thin line of repair to an old tear is visible on her chest at center. Some other faintly visible and scattered retouches that have discolored slightly are visible here and there. Reading under UV is impeded due to a dirty varnish. The painting could benefit from a clean. Offered in an elaborately carved and gilded frame.
