Description

Of geometric design, set with an old European-cut diamond weighing approximately 2.40 carats, accented with old European, single, triangular, whistle-cut and baguette diamonds, signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered 1548 R, with French assay and partial maker's mark; circa 1930.

Condition

In good condition with minor scratches commensurate with wear. There is a break in the metal near the pin stem hinge. French assay mark for gold and partial maker's mark on pin stem, and French assay mark for platinum and partial maker's mark on the brooch mount. Set with one old European-cut diamond weighing approximately 2.40 carats, approximately L-M color, VS2 clarity due to a chip above girdle. The smaller old European, single, triangular, whistle-cut and baguette diamonds weighing a total of approximately 8.25 carats, approximately G-H color and VVS-VS clarity. Measuring approximately 2⅛ x 1⅛ inches. Accompanied by a Van Cleef & Arpels Certificate of Authenticity dated August 5, 2014. Please note that the Van Cleef & Arpels letter of authenticity states the incorrect engraved number; the letter states the piece is numbered 34088 and it is instead numbered 1548 R.
