Supporting a pendant set with a cushion-cut amethyst within a frame of floral and foliate motifs of carved opals with round sapphire centers and carved green hardstones, bordered by round amethysts, suspended from a decorative chain set with carved opal fleurettes centered on round sapphires and clusters of round amethysts, length 19 inches, signed Tiffany & Co.; circa 1920.


In good condition given the age of the piece, with minor surface scratches to the mounting not noticeable when worn. Scratch number '4392' found on the clasp. Mounting tests as platinum. The cushion-cut amethyst, estimated to weigh approximately 31.00 carats, is medium deep purple, with moderate color zoning but otherwise eye-clean. The round amethysts are medium to medium deep purple, some slightly reddish purple examples, eye-clean to slightly included. The opals, measuring approximately 7.8 to 7.2 mm, display moderate to strong play-of-color, predominantly blue and green, some with flashes of orange. The green hardstones are slightly bluish green, some with mottling, with a frosted finish. The sapphires are medium blue, slightly to moderately included. Gross weight approximately 29 dwts. Clasp is fitted with a safety closure and closes securely.
