Description

Composed of coral segments carved with floral motifs, studded with emerald and onyx cabochons, and single-cut diamonds, highlighted with old European and single-cut diamonds and bands of black enamel, signed Cartier Paris, numbered 059, with French assay and workshop marks; circa 1925, with later added black resin combs.

Condition

In good condition, especially given the age of this piece. The gold mounting with small scratches and discoloration commensurate with age. With French assay marks for 18 karat gold. The coral is medium light reddish orange with small areas of whitish banding, with one small area of abrasion visible under close inspection. The onyx cabochons in good condition. The emerald cabochons are medium light green, vibrantly colored, moderately included. The black enamel bands with some small chips only visible under close inspection. The diamonds, weighing a total of approximately 3.70, are bright and lively. The black resin combs in excellent condition. Each comb (including coral surmounts) measuring approximately 3 inches in length, 2 inches wide.
