Description

Composed of graduated emerald-cut emeralds, the central three emeralds weighing approximately 9.25, 8.35 and 7.65 carats, framed and linked by pinched collet-set old European, old mine and single-cut diamonds, length 15½ inches; late 19th century composite.

Condition

In good condition given the age of the components, with scattered patina to the silver. Mounted in silver topped gold. Some prongs with evidence of repair. Some galleries with evidence of repair or modification. The emeralds are of medium slightly bluish green to bluish green hue; the three largest emeralds weighing approximately 9.25, 8.35 and 7.65 carats respectively, moderately included, with some surface-reaching inclusions. The smaller emeralds weighing a total of approximately 17.10 carats, are medium bluish green, slightly to moderately included with some surface reaching inclusions. The emeralds with good overall transparency and with scattered minor abrasions and scratches that are not readily visible to the unaided eye. The diamonds, weighing a total of approximately 25.90 carats, are approximately F-J color and VS-I clarity, with scattered chips and abrasions to girdle edges. Accompanied by AGL report no. 1093125 stating that the emeralds are of Colombian origin, clarity enhancement: insignificant to minor, type: traditional.
