PAIR OF EMERALD AND DIAMOND EARRINGS, VAN CLEEF & ARPELS, 1960S

Description

Each surmount set with a pear-shaped cabochon emerald, framed by brilliant-cut and pear-shaped diamonds, suspending a detachable drop-shaped emerald, similarly framed, post and clip fittings, signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered, French assay marks for gold and maker's marks.

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 1034222, stating that the emeralds are of Colombian origin, with a moderate amount of oil in fissures. Each signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered 26992, maker's marks and assay marks for 18 carat gold. Emeralds well matched in colour, green of medium strong saturation, with typical inclusions, some surface reaching, some brownish surface reaching inclusions to the reverse of one of the stones, minor abrasions and nicks. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 8.00 - 10.00 carats, on average G-H colour, VS clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Metal with minor evidence of wear. In very good condition. Total gross weight approximately 28 grams.
