Claw-set with a step-cut sapphire weighing 44.62 carats, within a surround of brilliant-cut diamonds, the shoulders additionally pavé-set with brilliant-cut diamonds, size 47, signed M. Gérard, numbered, French assay and maker's marks.

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 103017, stating that the step-cut sapphire, weighing 44.62 carats, measuring 20.81 x 18.28 x 11.00mm, is of Burmese origin with no indications of heating 'Royal Blue', and Gübelin report no. 17030011, stating that the sapphire is of Burmese origin, with indications of heating. Signed M Gérard, numbered 2866, French maker's mark and assay mark for 18 carat gold. Sapphire blue of strong saturation with typical inclusions visible under 10x magnification, minor abrasions, two visible scratches to the pavilion, very small chips on the girdle. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 2.00 - 2.50 carats, on average G-H colour, VS clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Minor evidence of wear to the metal. In very good condition. Gross weight approximately 17 grams.
