Pair of ruby, sapphire and diamond brooches, 1950s

Of floral design, each set with variously cut rubies and sapphires, highlighted with brilliant-cut diamonds. 

Each inscribed DEPOSE SSM. Sapphires and rubies each well matched in colour, violet blue and pinkish red to purplish red of medium saturation, with typical inclusions, some surface reaching, some with cavities, abrasions, nicks and chips. Diamonds bright and lively. Signs of wear to the metal consistent with use, signs of tarnish. Clasps secure, sliding safety catches. In overall good condition. Total gross weight approximately 68 grams.
