Comprising: a pendent set with a cushion-shaped ruby, decorated with brilliant-cut, pear- and marquise-shaped diamonds, accented with foliate and butterfly motifs similarly set, mounted in 18 karat white gold, length approximately 430mm, signed VCA, numbered; and a pair of pendent ear clips of similar design, signed Van Cleef & Arpels and VCA, numbered, French assay and maker's marks, case stamped Van Cleef & Arpels.
Condition
Accompanied by Gübelin report numbered 18021029, dated 12 February 2018, stating that the ruby on the necklace is of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating; also accompanied by GIA report numbered 2207767503 dated September 16, 2015 and 7203767621, dated September 17, 2015, both stating that the three rubies are natural of Burmese origin with no indications of heating. GIA also states that two oval rubies can be described in the trade as 'Pigeon's Blood'; further accompanied by a Van Cleef & Arpels repair note. Please refer to reports and note for further details. Necklace: Signed VCA, numbered ML 5061 and stamped 750 for 18 karat white gold. Ruby, estimated to weigh approximately 3.50 to 4 carats is medium dark purplish red, of strong saturation with typical inclusions, some surface reaching, when examined under 10x magnification. Diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 4.00 to 4.50 carats in total, are E to F colour, mostly VS clarity, as gauged and graded in the mounting. Overall in very good condition. Ear clips: Signed Van Cleef & Arpels and VCA, numbered JH 000542 and stamped G 750 for 18 karat white gold. Rubies estimated to weigh approximately 2.00 to 2.50 carats in total, are medium dark slightly purplish red colour and strong saturation, with typical inclusions, noticeable only under 10X magnification. Diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 2.00 to 2.50 carats in total, are about E to F colour, mostly VS clarity, as gauged and graded in the mounting. Metal in very good condition. Overall in very good condition. Accompanied by case stamped Van Cleef & Arpels and a Van Cleef & Arpels repair note for silicon backings.
