Each spinel drop suspending a fringe of diamond beads and briolettes and brilliant-cut diamonds, to the similarly set surmount, mounted in platinum, signed BHAGAT, post and hinged back fittings.

One earring signed BHAGAT, the other signed PT950 for platinum mounting. Spinel drops, estimated to weigh approximately 45 - 50cts in total, are well matched in colour, medium purple red of medium saturation, with typical inclusions, some surface-reaching, small scratches and nicks with examined under 10X magnification. Diamonds estimated to weigh approximately 20 - 22cts in total are bright and lively. Signs of minor wear to metal. Overall in very good condition.

Earrings are one of the principal forms of jewellery recorded throughout history, once as a marking of social status and today a means of making a statement in the eye of the fashion world. As one of the most prominent pieces of jewellery to be worn, adorning and framing the face with a shimmering allure, earrings have been particularly responsive to changes in fashion. As hairstyles, collars and necklines have risen and fallen, earrings have correspondingly increased and decreased in size and prominence, instrumental to balancing and tying together the desired fashionable appearance.

The way that earrings have been worn and their function within an ensemble have quickly become the ideal form for harmonizing or adding drama to an overall 'look', and in Hollywood, earrings are the essential finishing touch.
