Condition
The canvas is original. There is an extremely fine pattern of craquelure throughout the central section of the painting, only visible upon close inspection. There appears to be some frame abrasion to all four edges, in particular to the lower right corner. There is a slight fleck of loss to the area below the car. There are some minor accretions and instances of surface dirt throughout. There is also some studio matter and detritus. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals an area of retouching in the centre of the upper edge. There are also a small number of areas of localised retouching along the lower edge and in the bottom of the left edge. There is one small area in the upper third of the right edge and one or two areas of spot retouching in the centre of the work. The work is held behind glass in a simple wooden frame.
