Condition

The sheet has been laid down on to a piece of card, which is, in turn, attached to the mount with strips of adhesive tape along the edges. There are remnants of previous adhesive tabs to the upper corners with an associated tear and loss to the upper left corner. The paper has worm through in one very small area towards the upper left corner with one or two flecks of wear elsewhere. There are creases to the upper third of the work with some further more minor creases elsewhere. There is a faint vertical scratch roughly 8cm. to the centre of the women's torso. There is a small tear to the card on the verso at the extreme right edge. There is some probable time staining to the sheet and light fading to the pen, in keeping with the work's age. There are some instances of detritus and surface matter. The work is pinned and mounted and held behind glass in a gilted painted wooden frame.
