Provenance
Acquired directly from the Artist by the present owner in the late 1970s
Exhibited
Dublin, Tom Caldwell Gallery, late 1970s (details untraced).
Condition
The board appears sound. There are a small number of very small flecks of loss to the extreme edges. There are tiny spots of craquleure around the nail heads at the extreme edges. There are a small number of faint scuffs to the board, including two vertical scuffs to the upper right of the uppermost rainbow. There are a few very light scratches to the black gloss paint. There is light surface dust. Subject to the above, the work appears in very good overall condition. The glossy paint makes inspection under ultraviolet light difficult but there are no obvious signs of retouching. The work is unframed. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
