Condition

The canvas appears original. There are Artist's pinholes to all four corners with pinhead marks visible upon close inspection. There is a light vertical scratch towards the upper left corner. There are instances of studio detritus and minor surface dirt to the work. Subject to the above, the work appears in overall very good condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals fluorescence and some likely retouching in three short lines towards the lower edge and one or two spot retouchings to the upper part of the hair. These have all been sensitively executed. The work is held in a painted wooden frame. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
