Condition
The sheet has been fully laid down on to the backing board, however it slightly undulates throughout the centre of the sheet. There is some craquelure in the thicker areas of gouache, in particular to the black pigment, with some associated flecks of loss in places. There are some losses to the extreme right edge, in keeping with frame abrasion and some minor specks of loss to the red pigment towards the right edge. There are a number of scratches to the surface of the sheet, in keeping with the Artist's working methods. There are one or two light scuffs to the sheet. There is some evidence of rubbing to all four edges, not visible in the present mount. There is some evidence of studio matter and surface dirt in places. This excepting the work appears to be in very good overall condition. The work is window mounted within a simple wooden frame and held behind glass.
