Condition
Overall in very good condition consistent with age and gentle use. The surfaces with minor surface scuffs and scratches concentrated to the bases of the legs. The writing surface with some fine hairlines and a gentle warp which cannot be immediately seen but noticeable to the touch, consistent with age. The front center edge of the writing surface with a few filled areas which are not visually disruptive. The metal elements with minor fine surface scratches and oxidation. The rear proper left metal bracket with one screw missing and is pulling away slightly.The rear proper right corner with a hairline crack measuring approximately 4 1/4 in. (11 cm) and appears stable. Please contact the department for images of the accompanying gueridon (32 in. high; 13 in. diameter of top; 16 1/2 in. width of legs). The gueridon in overall in very good condition consistent with age and gentle use. The wood surfaces with minor scattered scuffs and scratches concentrated to the bases of the legs and the center of the top surface. The metal elements with minor fine surface scratches and oxidation. One of the metal brackets is missing a screw and is pulling away slightly. There is evidence of old inactive woodworm present on the underside of the top surface, legs and lower shelf. Two fine and charming examples of French Art Nouveau in very good condition.
