the exterior painted with peonies and pomegranate branches issuing from rockwork, the reverse with two butterflies and a single peony sprig, the interior similarly decorated, the interior rim with a pink diaper border reserved with blue-ground scalloped floral vignettes 

Condition

There is a U shaped section broken out in 4 pieces to the front of the bowl and restuck back together, previously riveted with old restoration measuring approx. 5 1/4 by 6 in. (13.3 by 15.2 cm) with associated overpainting. The interior with a ring of worn glaze half way down the bowl and some minor wear to the gilding and enamels. Two tiny rim chips to the top edge of the rim.
