Condition

The canvas has been strip lined. There is a faint craquelure pattern across the surface, minor surface abrasions in the upper corners; otherwise the work appears in good overall condition. UV light reveals a few minor spots of retouching by the large mountain peak in the distance and three small spots in the sky to the right of the mountain. A small area of retouching amongst the trees in the lower left quadrant and another area of retouching in the hillside towards the lower right edge. Held in an impressive gilt plaster frame, ready to hang.
