A very similar table was in the collection of the sixth Earl of Rosebery at Mentmore Towers, Buckinghamshire, sold Sotheby's May 18-20, 1977, lot 412.  Comparable trellis and rosette parquetry designs appear in the work of numerous Louis XVI ébénistes including Cremer, Dester and Roger Lacroix.
