Comprising a jar painted with a continuous scene of the Eight Immortals enjoying a leisurely stroll by a pine tree, an iron-red ruyi band above, bands bearing ‘Auspicious Emblems’ and the ‘Hundred Antiques’ at the shoulder and neck, wood stand, wood cover, Kangxi period; and a jar and cover with shaped cartouches enclosing floral and landscape vignettes against an iron-red ground decorated in reserve with scrolling lotus, polychrome patterned borders above and below, blossoming peony sprigs at the neck, the domed cover similarly decorated and with a bud-form knop, wood stand, 6 pieces

Condition

The 'floral' jar and cover are in overall good condition with only minor expected wear. The 'Eight Immortals' jar has an approx. 15-cm hairline crack to one side (with an associated star crack to the glaze at the interior); three additional star cracks to the glaze at the interior; minor chips and frits to the rim and foot; and minor manufacturing imperfections. Please note that this lot includes a stand, frame or other component made from a type of Chinese hardwood, which, if exported, will require a CITES permit to leave the United States.
