The bronzier Quentin-Claude Pitoin (1725-1777) supplied a pair of this model to the Royal Garde-Meuble at Versailles in 1771, where they are now in the cabinet doré of Marie-Antoinette.  Other examples are in the Louvre, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, and Schloss Nymphenburg outside Munich.
