Description

  • diameter 20 in.; 50.8 cm
sturdily potted and painted in vivid shades of cobalt, the interior centered with a large four-clawed dragon writhing in pursuit of a 'flaming pearl', its torso and face twisted frontally, surrounded by cloud wisps, flame scrolls, and four further dragons each chasing a 'flaming pearl', the exterior sides with eight 'Auspicious Emblems', the base with a six-character mark in underglaze blue within a double circle

Condition

The charger is in overall good general condition. There is fritting along the rim and scattered kiln adhesions to the well, particularly to the frontal dragon's rear claws. The surface with expected wear and characteristic firing imperfections, the rim slightly warped.
