Description

Set with a pear-shaped emerald weighing approximately 10.15 carats, framed by round and marquise-shaped diamonds, on a detachable gold curb link chain, length 14½ inches, signed Cartier.

Condition

In good overall condition, the gold chain with signs of age and wear in the form of minor tarnish and surface scratches. A few links with evidence of solder (only noticeable under very close inspection); the necklace may have originated as either two gold bracelets or one full necklace, with the emerald later added by the consignor. The female clasp end signed Cartier and stamped 18K. The emerald is medium very slightly bluish green, heavily included with surface reaching inclusions throughout the stone. The diamonds, weighing a total of approximately 2.50 carats, are approximately H-I color, VS-SI clarity. Total gross weight approximately 86 dwts.
