Catalogue Note

Kazuyoshi and Nobuyuki (Tokyo, 1998) describe this dish with yabane (feather arrow) motif as finely executed with the twelve arrows evenly drawn over the whole dish. Shards of this design were excavated at the Hokaoyama kiln in Arita. For a similar example see Toguri Museum of Art, Early Imari Ware (Tokyo, 1997), pl.46 p.27
