A FINE TANTO THE KOSHIRAE MEIJI PERIOD, LATE 19TH CENTURY
the blade: a yoroi-doshi style with a deep koshi-hi with a narrow hi beneath it

the koshirae: the gnarled wood koshirae inlaid in silver, copper, gilt and shakudo with a snake emerging from crevices, the silver fuchi kashira inlaid in gilt and shakudo with grasses, a slug emerging from the fuchi  


 The mount: 37 cm, 14 5/8  in.
