Condition
The canvas is not lined. Inspection under UV light reveals a varnish which prevents the light from fully penetrating, however there appear to be no signs of retouching under UV light. There are a few stable fine lines of craquelure in places, particularly to the thickest areas of impasto. There are a couple of tiny flecks of pigment loss in the upper right quadrant, towards the right edge. There is evidence of minor old frame abrasion to the extreme edges not visible when framed. This work is in very good overall condition. Please note that according to the Wildenstein Plattner Institute, this work is signed by another hand.
