Condition

The canvas is not lined. There is a milky varnish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating, however examination under UV light appears to reveal no signs of retouching. There is a pinhole to the centre of the lower edge and two pinholes to the right part of the upper edge. There is some paint shrinkage in places, primarily to the thicker red pigments, and there are some minor flecks of pigment loss to the extreme edges, consistent with frame abrasion. There is a lovely thick impasto and this work is in overall very good condition.
