Sale: Sotheby's, London, 20th June 2007, lot 510

Condition

The canvas is strip-lined. Examination under UV light reveals a circa 4cm area of retouching towards the centre of the right edge, a minor area above this (circa 1.5cm wide), a small spot to the red central rose and retouching in places to the upper right quadrant to the background and along the edges. There is a spot of paint loss to the upper right rose and fine lines of craquelure in places. Some frame rubbing to the edges (not visible when framed). There is a lovely impasto and this work is in overall good condition.
