Catalogue Note
Patek Philippe introduced the large Calatrava model ref. 570 in 1938. The over sized ref. 570 was immensely popular, and the firm ran it for nearly 30 years, finally halting production in 1972. While its proportions are commensurate with those of the ref. 96, the 35.5 mm. diameter of the ref. 570 dwarfs the ref. 96's 30.5 mm diameter. The present lot is an exceptional example of the iconic Calatrava model, with an attractive patina signifying its age. It would make an excellent addition to any collection, as its condition and aesthetics superbly represent the firm's reputation for creating superbly crafted timepieces.
