Catalogue Note

Jean Lurçat (c.1892) was a French artist notable his work in painting and the revival of French tapestry in the 20th century. His whimsical and organic influence clearly presents itself in his collection of exotic jewelry pieces for Patek Philippe.
Collaborating with famed designer, Gilbert Albert, Lurçat moved away from tapestry to that of jewelry, creating imaginative works which were then executed in the Patek Philippe workshops under the direction of Gilbert Albert.
