Condition

CASE Case in overall good condition with some light signs of previous polish. Face of the case with some small nicks and surface scuffs. Bezel in good condition. Bracelet also with some nicks and scuffing, and signs of previous light polish. Clasp with some small pitting areas and light scuffs. DIAL Dial is highly attractive and in good condition. Dial and hands relumed. MOVEMENT Date function working properly. The movement is running at time of cataloging, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Catalogue Note

Rolex introduced the reference 1530, an automatic movement powered date watch, shortly before the Oysterquartz ref. 17000. The watch was sold in the newly designed, angular and modern case that was intended for the Oysterquartz, and was supposedly made in less than 1,500 examples.
