Catalogue Note
Accompanied by a Vianney Halter DVD, instruction manual and presentation box. Vianney Hatler is a very innovative, unique independent watchmaker of the modern era. He has created many signature pieces such as the Antiqua, Opus 3 and most recently, the Deep Space Tourbillon. His name is relatively minute in the public eyes as his production number is incredibly small in comparison to other independent watchmakers. Aspired to transform the traditional method of time keeping, Halter explores the option of creating time pieces that can represent steampunk from science fiction. Therefore, his watches often have a certain degree of resemblance to the appearance of a spacecraft, machinery and so on.
The present watch is a collaboration piece between German luxury brand Goldpfeil and Vianney Halter. They wanted to produce a watch that has never appeared in the market before. The watch was inspired by vintage rangefinder cameras, therefore, the tiny hand hammered dimple on the case is intended to imitate the appearance of the leather wrap on vintage cameras. The watch was produced in 2001 and was sold for a retail price of CHF65,000.
