• cal.240/165 automatic movement stamped with Geneva seal, 45 jewels, 22k gold mini-rotor engraved with the Calatrava cross • inner blue bezel with silvered Roman numerals, the sapphire crystal glass with silvered ellipse framing the visible sky (marked out with the cardinal points), planisphere of the Northern Hemisphere rotates counter-clockwise above the dial, skeletonized white-lacquered feuille hands • platinum case, 18k pink gold case band finely decorated with halved Calatrava crosses, pink gold lugs, crown at 2 o'clock to for time setting, crown at 4 o'clock for adjusting the planisphere by turning to one direction and in the other direction to correct the angular position and moon-phases, screw-down sapphire crystal case back • case, crystal and movement signed • with an 18k pink gold Patek Philippe buckle
Condition
The movement and all functions are in working condition at the time of cataloguing. The upper right and lower left lugs with minor signs of tarnishing. The band with very minor signs of tarnishing particularly toward the left and all the lugs. The watch is in excellent overall condition and is almost like new. The buckle with minor signs of tarnishing and signs of wear. The watch is overall in excellent condition close to new condition. Overall a very attractive example in excellent overall condition. * Please note that the movement has not tested for the accuracy of time and may need service at the buyer's expense. Accompanied by a Patek Philippe special leather folder containing the Certificate of Origin, instruction manual and presentation box.
As a significant new reference, one sees the 'Celestial' (reference 5102) standing proudly alongside other legendary Patek Philippe watches with star charts, most notably the Henry Graves, Jr. Supercomplication. When the model was first introduced, it was created only in platinum for five years. From 2007 to 2009, it was produced in yellow gold, and from 2009 to 2012, in pink gold and platinum. In 2012, Patek Philippe discontinued the model and introduced the reference 6102.
