• cal. 315 S QR automatic movement stamped with the Geneva seal, 31 jewels • silvered dial, applied baton numerals, fan-form retrograde date with Arabic numerals, 4 apertures for leap year indication, day, month and and moon-phases, center seconds • platinum case, screw-down sapphire crystal display back • case, dial and movement signed • with a platinum Patek Philippe buckle

Condition

Movement, perpetual and retrograde functions are in working order while cataloguing. The movement has not been tested for time keeping and a service might be required at the buyer's expense. Dial is clean and intact. The case is in very good condition with only very light surface wear and a very minor ding to the bezel to the 4 o'clock. the hallmarks on the band on 9 o'clock is very crisp and easy to see. Overall, the watch is very attractive and in original condition. **The strap of this wristwatch is made from an endangered species, please refer to important notices for further information**. Presentation case started to disintegrate.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin, an instruction manual, a setting pin, an interchangeable solid case back and presentation box. Launched in 1993, reference 5050 was the first automatic perpetual calendar wristwatch featuring retrograde date and center seconds from Patek Philippe. Available in yellow, pink, white gold or platinum with either baton indexes or considerably rarer Roman numerals dial, the model was discontinued in 2002 when it was replaced with the reference 5059 and then reference 5159 with Officer-style case.
