Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a Breguet certificate, extra strap and presentation box. In the history of watchmaking, Breguet could not be disregarded as his name bears too many significant creations. Sir David Lionel Salomons once said, "To carry a fine Breguet watch is to feel that you have the brains of a genius in your pocket".

Highest salute to this Father of Tourbillon, Abraham-Louis Breguet is also known as 'The Innovator' contributing in many advance horological inventions – The Self-Winding Perpétuelle system in 1780, Breguet Hands and Breguet's Arabic numerals  in 1783, The Equation of Time in 1785, The Perpetual Calendar in 1795, Constant Force Escapement in 1798, Chronographs in 1820, etc. In 1810, Caroline Murat, queen of Naples commissioned Breguet, that was when the first wristwatch was born. Napoleon Bonaparte was also one of Breguet's most faithful clients.

On the look and feel side, Breguet watches are obviously recognized for its coin-edge cases, guilloché dials and blue-steeled Breguet hands. This lot is a solid three-body platinum watch bearing these signature identifications of Breguet, with visible one-minute tourbillon regulator perpetual calendar with retrograde date
