in the form of an arch backed by drapery, topped by three baskets of flowers, the center chased with a Menorah on pricked scalework ground, engraved with the Tablets, applied with projecting Hands of Cohen between a crown supported by two lions, fitted with one portion plaque above a dedication plaque, with one suspended bell
marked near base and on crown with city mark and maker's name

Catalogue Note

The name at the base reads: "Ezekiel Pfeifer ha-Kohen."

Johan Alois Sif(f)er I, son of silversmith Joseph Antoni Siffer (Geschaumeister 1809-1811), became master in 1781, died in 1823. Made religious silver (Seling, Die Augsburger Gold-und Silberschmiede 1729-1868, no. 2583, pp. 664-665).
