Catalogue Note

The first follows the design of an invitation to a celebration upon the completion of the thousandth rug in 1909, illus. in the catalogue Bezalel 1906-1929, The Israel Museum, 1983, fig.19 p.265

The inscription beneath the scene in the first translates: "He has endowed [Bezalel] with a divine skill, ability, and knowledge in every kind of craft' [Exodus 35:31].
