The inscription reads: "In memory of the dear, honorable, esteemed one, the strong rod, the lordly staff, the modest, short-lived Abraham Abecassis, may he repose in Eden. He went to his eternal rest on Thursday, 25 Adar I [5]651 [March 5, 1891]. May his soul be bound up in the bond of life."
