Condition
Very good overall condition. Superficial scratches and minor wear throughout seating area consistent with gentle use and age. The proper left front edge of the bench presents with a series of scratches, only partially visible in the catalogue illustration. The backrest presents with small abrasions and 3 shallow edge abrasions in concentrated area (largest ⅓ -in. wide), which are not visually distracting. The backrail with a 16 ¾-in. hairline scratch near upper edge, not visually distracting. There is a faint ring (3-inches wide) near the inner Indian rosewood key, faintly visible in catalogue photography and only noticeable upon close inspection. The bench has recently been professionally oiled, which helped revitalize the wood finish and magnify its rich, natural patterns. Overall a sturdy, stable structure and a superb example of an iconic Nakashima design.
