Condition

Overall very good condition consistent with age. When viewed in person, the table presents with a warm and deep honey hue, slightly lighter and richer than the overall catalogue illustration. The table has been sensitively and professionally refinished by a top New York conservator and now the satin quality of the wood grain is accentuated to its fullest extent. The surface top of the upper-most tier with two areas of professional stabilization to the veneer. The surfaces of the other tiers appear in very good condition with no visible scratches or restoration. There are scattered areas of infill to the walnut veneer throughout, concentrated to the vertical/side elements of veneer at seams and/or edges as well as the base, the largest of which is approximately 6 inches. These areas of infill blend in nicely to the original wood hue and are common in this model due to the age and materials. An outstanding example of this iconic biomorphic design by Robsjohn-Gibbings.
