Condition

Overall very good condition. The ceiling mount is beautifully executed with fine detailing and a complex composition. The bronze surfaces with some scattered extremely minor surface scratches, abrasions and discolorations consistent with age and gentle handling. With some light surface soiling to the recessed contours and some occasional scattered minute flecks of white house paint. The socket arms with some wear and occasional minor losses to the patina where the arms bend. A few of the socket petals are slightly bent, all stable. The “turtle-back” tiles all appear original and undisturbed. The turtle-back tiles are internally illuminated with a later-added electrical component, which makes for a beautiful presentation. Each of the six “lily” shades presents with scattered minute air bubbles and particulate inclusions inherent in the making and not visually detractive, and with some scattered extremely fine surface scratches and light surface soiling. Four of the shades with some wear to the interior likely from the glass making contact with the socket, not visible when the shades are assembled. With later replaced sockets. This ceiling light presents beautifully, displaying elegant and refined proportions and detailing.
