Description

  • 29.5 cm, 11 5/8  in.
seated in dhyanasana on an ungilded separately cast double-lotus pedestal base, with hands held in dhyanamudra, wearing a shawl and dhoti falling down over his crossed legs in undulous folds and opening at the chest to reveal elaborate jewellery, a celestial scarf around the shoulders and arms, the face with benevolent expression surmounted by an elaborate five-point diadem surrounding a high chignon

Condition

The bronze has been cast in three sections, the top half, legs and waist and the plinth, all of which are in good condition with the exception of seven areas of loss to the turquoise inlay on the earrings, necklace and diadem, the 9cm., long lower left section of scarf is lost, and there is light rubbing to the gilding on the extremities. The base is open.
