Description

  • 35 cm, 13 3/4  in.
the pear-shaped body rising from a short spreading foot to a tall trumpet neck set with a pair of mask-headed handles suspending fixed rings, moulded around the body with a wide band of scrolling peonies above a border of upright lotus lappets, covered overall with a bluish-green glaze suffused with a fine network of crackles

Condition

This rare vase is in very good condition with the exception of over-painting to a 2.5cm., wide area covering a shallow rim flake, light glaze crazing and a circa 10 x 10cm., triangular area of slightly smoky misfired glaze to one side.
