Description

  • 10 cm, 4 in.
the straight sided box rising from an angled base and short spreading foot to an incurved rim and inner flange, the slightly domed straight-sided cover freely carved with a large leafy peony spray, covered overall in an olive-green glaze

Condition

This crisply carved box and cover are in good condition with the exception of a small glaze misfire to the centre of the cover, a shallow 12mm., wide flake to the inside edge of the flange on the box and a circa 12cm., hairline crack running around the footring.
