Description
- 7.3 cm, 2 7/8 in.
of rectangular form with indented corners, supported on a reticulated foot, the cover carved in low-relief depicting a scholar and his attendant crossing a bridge in a mountainous landscape amidst scrolling clouds, the sides and box decorated with panels of archaistic motifs, with a poetic inscription to one side, all against a brocade ground, the smoothly polished stone of very pale celadon tone
Condition
some minor nicks to extremities, in particular to the joint edges of the box and its cover. some areas of rubbing to two of the feet, otherwise in overall fairly good condition
