Description

  • 11.7 cm, 4 5/8  in.
the figure seated in lalitasana, holding in both hands a boy seated on one knee, her long robes detailed with stylised cloud scrolls, the boy playfully grasping a long lotus stem, the stone of a creamy beige tone, with a signature of Zhoubin on the back

Condition

There are general surface wear, and shallow chips to the extremities, the most prominent meassuing approx. 0.4 cm to the robe on her right knee. There are some losses to the inlay. There are natural veining running across the surface, the longest running from the right arm across the left leg. A residue of adhesive is visible between the figure and base, possibly securing the figure to the later added base.
