Description

  • 57 cm, 22 1/2  in.
each baluster body rising from a recessed foot to a short slightly waisted neck with everted rim, brightly enamelled around the exterior with three bands of lotus-lappet panels enclosing flowers issuing from rockwork, all below keyfret and floret and wave bands at the shoulder and floral sprigs at the neck, the domed cover similarly decorated and surmounted by a lotus bud finial

Condition

One jar has been broken into approximately five sections and restored, the other has restoration to a circa 50cm., long crescent-shaped break extending from the rim down around the shoulder and back to the rim, both jars have further smaller areas of over-painting. Both covers have restoration to a circa 17cm., wide section of the rim.
