  • diameter 11 3/4  in.; 29.8 cm
the exterior painted with four hunting scenes composed as a continuous landscape divided by trees, the interior painted with a huntsman on a galloping horse.

Condition

The entire bowl (inside and outside) covered in a clear spray, extensive overpainting to the whire areas of the base, it is impossible to see the extent of the original damage but it appears to have been severely cracked at the base or broken.

Catalogue Note

The hunting scenes depicted are taken from a set of four engravings after James Seymour (1705-52), titled 'Going out in the Morning', 'Brushing into Cover', 'In Full Chase' and 'The Death'.
